ME Art Space
ME was the second exhibition to open within the newly created TWT Creative Precinct, proudly sponsored by Auswin TWT Developments.
Local north shore artists-in-residence, Debbie Mackinnon, Julia Roberts, Ella Mucha and Sandra Blackburne celebrated the opening of the ME exhibition at the Me Art Space, 25 Atchison St in St Leonards on Thursday 3 April. More than 100 guests attended the opening which exhibits over 30 contemporary landscape artworks by the artists.
The ME Art Space is the realisation of a dream of established Sydney artist Debbie Mackinnon: “ME is a creative environment where like minded artists come to explore their ideas and develop their painting potential.”
Debbie also runs a vibrant painting group at the studios on Thursdays – Paint with ME. Her aim is to radically change the way artists come together to explore their passions and to develop their ideas, on the winding path to becoming better painters.
The ME art collective is an explosive mix of talent driven by the 12 artists who drop in on Thursdays – each artist is working at their own level with encouragement and inspiration from the others – several members have already had their own solo shows.
There is no ‘course’, just a meeting of kindred spirits, where ME becomes WE. We are not defined by rules or conventions, just a desire to push the boundaries of art. Artist and ME gallery owner Debbie Mackinnon describes the group as “a creative environment where like minded artists come to explore their ideas and develop their painting potential.”
